We considered anyone who matriculated as a student at Great Ife an alumnus. So you didn’t graduate…we claim you anyway and look forward to seeing you
Can I attend even if I'm not an alumnus
You can attend as a guest of an alumnus. Adult guests are welcome to attend the Saturday night banquet for a fee of $50 (early registration)
Who will be attending?
Well, we hope you will be attending, but we are also expecting over a hundred other alumni. Previous reunions have been attended by alumni from Europe, Africa and across the United States
What’s the theme for the Reunion?
Great Ife Reloaded: Old Challenges, New Opportunities. We hope to evoke memories of our time at Great Ife, the relationships we formed, the struggles we experienced, the fun we had and opportunities to look forward to.
How do I register?

Where can I stay?
We have selected a great hotel at a convenient location. It’s within walking distance of a shopping mall and close to the airport. Visit the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center Hotel website for more information and to book your accommodation.
Can I just show up at the venue for the reunion
We strongly encourage you to register prior to the Reunion. This will help with our planning so that we can make sure that you have a thoroughly enjoyable experience
Will transportation be available?
The venues we have selected for the various Reunion activities are conveniently located within walking distance of each other so transportation is not really required. If you wish to drive around town in order to experience the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, the DFW Airport Rental Car Center is located near the south entrance of the Airport (at 2424 E. 38th St, DFW Airport, TX) and is served by 11 companies. What about my kids?
Although the reunion is targeted towards alumni we do recognize that many alumni would like to bring their children. The banquet on Saturday night is the only event that is restricted to adults only however we are fully prepared. See the Kids Activities page for more information.
What else can I do in the local area?
Experience the Dallas/Fort Worth area for its fantastic shopping (including outlet malls) if you are bargain hunting, it’s western heritage and a number of activity parks such as Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor are in close proximity to the reunion host hotel. Besides register, what do I have to do?
Nothing – just make your transportation arrangements for Dallas. We can’t wait to see you
What type of clothes do I need?
The dress code for the banquet on Saturday night is formal which can be either western or Naija attire. We want you to be comfortable but we also want you to look good. Remember plenty of photographs will be taken and your photograph just might end up on our reunion website.
The other events are more casual but please remember that the summers in Dallas are hot, hot, hot. People dressed in shorts and T-shirts regardless or age and gender is extremely common.
Can I stay elsewhere besides the Reunion host hotel?
Yes, but we strongly encourage you to stay at our host hotel. This will ensure that you don’t get lost, and can easily arrive at the various events
How do I get to Dallas?
By road, obviously depending on where you’re starting your journey, and by air. Dallas is served by 2 airports – Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL). Love Field is mostly a local airport.
What is the estimated transportation cost and travel times from the Airport?
Distance from the DFW Airport to the hotel is about 3 miles (Drive Time of about 5 minutes). Complimentary Courtesy Shuttle is available from the Airport to the Hotel. The estimated Taxi fare is $25.00
Distance from the Love Field Airport to the hotel is about 20 miles (Drive Time of about 25 minutes). The estimated Taxi fare to the hotel is $50.00
Where can I attend or participate in religious services?
Depending on your religious persuasion, we will attempt to identify a place of worship for you. Just contact one of the hosts when you arrive
What does the Reunion fee cover?
The fee covers your attendance at our scheduled events including the food and soft drinks to be served. Alcohol will be available at the bar which you will be able to purchase. You will also get some souvenirs to remember this fun experience; however you will have to settle your hotel accommodation bill personally. We used our excellent negotiation skills but we couldn't quite get the accommodation rates low enough to include the Reunion registration fee
I’m slightly concerned about using my credit card on the internet
We added payment using Paypal as a feature of our online registration. PayPal, an eBay Company, enables any individual or business with an email address to securely, easily and quickly send and receive payments online. Please see PayPal for more information
Why are we raising funds for the university?
Well, we think it is a charitable endeavor. We also believe that by investing in the university we can increase its profile both at home and abroad and that benefits both current students of the university and its alumni

What if I have special needs?
We wish to make the Reunion as accessible as possible to all. Because situations vary, we will work closely with individuals to accommodate special needs for housing, transportation, etc.

What will the weather be like?
Hot, Hot, Hot! It’s not uncommon for Dallas temperatures to hit 100 degrees Fahrenheit or 37 degrees Celsius in the summer
What if I need to cancel?
You may cancel, but the fee is non refundable
