Other Activities
While in the DFW area, our members and their families are invited to experience two awesome activities offered around the hotel. Please see below for details. Also, see the Places of Interest link on the left to explore more of our cities.
Austin Ranch Horse Trail Ride
- Trail rides are available Tuesday through Sunday each week. For the safety of the riders and horses, we do not ride when the trails are wet. The one hour trail ride circles Silver Lake, providing a scenic tour of our beautiful Austin Ranch. Our gentle horses follow the lead horse single file (walking only), so no riding experience is necessary
- All riders must understand and speak fluent English so that they can receive instructions from the guide and communicate effectively during the ride
- Closed toe shoes are required. Pants or jeans are recommended. Riding helmets will be provided
- Each trail ride can take up to 6 riders at a time
- Cost for a 1 hour ride is $40 per person plus tax. A 30 minute ride is $30 per person plus tax
- All riders must be at least 9 years old, 48″ tall and must not exceed 240 pounds
- Riders under the age of 19 must have a parent sign the release form
- The first ride of the day is offered at 10:00 am. Subsequent ride times for the day are at 11:15 am, 1:00 pm, 2:15 pm, 3:30 pm and 4:45 pm

Grapevine Vintage Railroad
The Grapevine Vintage Railroad travels along the historic Cotton Belt Route Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards. The Railroad is serviced by two vintage locomotives which include “Puffy” the 1896 steam locomotive, which is the oldest continuously operating steam engine in the South, and a 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive. Passengers enjoy riding in authentic 1920s and 1930s Victorian-style coaches as they take a step back in time and experience train travel as it was in the glory days of the expanding West. Pull into the Fort Worth Stockyards Station and you are right in the middle of the Stockyards National Historic District where the Old West comes alive.
